“These Allman Family Revival shows have become an annual reunion for our musical family. This year, going from just one show in San Francisco to 3 shows including Denver and NYC is going to be epic. The musicians that have signed on have really upped the ante. We are so stoked to jam with our friends in Dad’s honor!” said Devon Allman.

Things are getting a little chilly around the country but two groups that are sure to heat up every room they play are Cris Jacobs Band and Midnight North. Ten dates throughout the Northeast and Midwest, there are sure to be collaborations along the way between the groups.

Hot Tuna is not just a concert but also an event.  Folks can categorize their music as Blues, Folk, Psychedelic, Americana, or Blues Rock and they would all be right. I have been fortunate to have been listening to Hot Tuna since I was a youth. I have seen Jorma and Jack play electric, acoustic, and with the Jefferson Airplane reunion. They have been part of the soundtrack of so many friends’ lives as well as mine.

Julia “Girl” Dreyer Brigden has published her memoirs of life as an untethered youth running around the Haight-Ashbury days of the ’60s in San Francisco.  Her stories traverse the globe from being born in South Africa to trading for a manufactured ‘around the world’ ticket that got her from Istanbul to Toyko, to Europe and back to the tour bus with her then-husband, David Freiberg ( Quicksilver Messenger Service /Jefferson Airplane/ Jefferson Starship).  In this delightful read, she examines her journey through the lens of written tradi

I will leave it to others to memorialize, to exalt into the heavens someone who wouldn’t have wanted it. Paul Barrere was my band mate, my friend, someone I leaned on and occasionally pushed away. We spent a good measure of our lives engaged in the art of making and playing music with a band that could have only been conjured in a dream. But it was all too real.

The Flusters, hailing from nearby Palm Desert, CA, made their Joshua Tree Music Festival debut on October 10, 2019, with their post-sundown set on the Boogaloo Stage.  Their live performance offers a bit of a time warp, from the black suits and two-toned shoes to the surf guitar meets 80’s synth blend, The Flusters offer a live music experience unlike anything you will have seen before, a kind of vintage psychedelic sock-hop synth party.  Lead signer Dougie VanSant Jr.

The 14th Annual Joshua Tree Fall Music Festival took place on October 10 – October 13, 2019, at the Joshua Tree Lake RV and Campground.  Founder and curator Barnett English put together an eclectic and energizing lineup that offered music from all corners of the globe with influences styles from the last 70 years represented.  Though the weather was not ideal, with high winds Thursday and evenings dropping down into the ’40s, the festivarians were not deterred and the Burning Man-esque campground was filled with th

Announced today, Back To Earth is set to be reissued on Cat-O-Log Records/BMG and includes a remastered CD & LP, released on November 29, 2019 while the Super Deluxe box set is set for a February 28, 2020 release.  The deluxe boxset features the original album (remastered at Abbey Road) together with previously unheard tracks ‘Butterfly’ and ‘Toy Heart’ (featuring Grammy winning guitarist, Eric Johnson) which were considered by Cat as too ‘pop’ at the time; demos, out-takes tracks, and material from UNICEF’s 1979 Year

The Fourth Annual Runaway Open was held Saturday, August 31st, at Willis Case Golf Course in Denver, Colorado. From 84 registered players, we had 5 last-day cancellations and 3 no-shows - but 6 called-in from a waiting list and 1 walk-up, for a balance of 83 players on the course. Everyone had a great time raising thousands of dollars for music education, and we're finally reporting back on the tournament results.

The Black Crowes’ Amorica turns a quarter-century-old on November 1st and I cannot stop myself from asking the most cliché of questions - Where did the time go? It is impossible to fathom, the collective twenty-five-year experience of this album’s fans. Times have been kind and cruel, and not always in the right measures. We have been blessed and deprived, lived in grace and despair, fell in love and fallen apart. If we are here, we have survived, and likely learned how to make a space inside for those departed. In twenty-five years, we lost an innocence we did not know we had.
