We're pleased to announce that techno originator Juan Atkins has joined the Moogfest lineup tonight to replace Thomas Dolby, who unfortunately fell ill yesterday and had to cancel his highly anticipated appearances. We wish Thomas godspeed toward his complete recovery.

Juan will perform in Thomas's previously scheduled slot at the Carolina Theatre, 8:00 to 9:15 p.m. before GAS. We're looking forward to this formidable one-two punch of techno masters.

But when this Texas couple combines their talents, something especially powerful happens. Like a chemical reaction, their musical fusion generates a special form of energy, and for only the fourth time in their history, they’re unleashing it in recorded form.

“Last night was not the best night, but it wasn’t the worst night either,” admits Nathan Earle. His wife, Juliet Howard, hums in agreement. Though the two create powerhouse Americana Soul and shimmering indie roots music as part of Portland, Oregon’s The Get Ahead, they’re not recalling a so-so show at a local venue. Instead, Nathan and Juliet are transitioning to parenthood with the often-insomnious reality of caring for their five-week-old daughter.
