Announcing Dignity Festival in Aurora, CO

Article Contributed by LiveLoud | Published on Tuesday, April 11, 2017

The Dignity Festival is a day of fitness and community to support Project Worthmore’s work with Colorado refugees and celebrate World Refugee Day. The event will include a 5k race, Family Fun Run, a live DJ yoga class, rice haul relay, kid’s activities, a community potluck & beer tent, and more.

The day is a community organized event to help raise funds for refugee Welcome Services and also serves as the culmination of Project Worthmore’s annual Dignity for Refugees campaign. Funds support programs including English and citizenship classes, the Yu Meh Food Share Program, a new refugee training farm at DeLaney Community Farm, and access to Community Navigators, among other things.

This event will take place at the beautiful DeLaney Community Farm in Aurora and kick off the harvest season on the farm. Project Worthmore has entered into a joint partnership with Denver Urban Gardens to create an all-refugee training farm starting this year.

The Dignity Festival is co-presented with Denver Presbyterian Church, and also supported and facilitated by several key community partners including Sound Off Colorado, Fitness In The City, and Orangetheory Fitness.
