Ben Sollee To Open Vice Presidential Debate @ Centre College

Tomorrow, Thursday, October 11, 2012, indie-folk cellist Ben Sollee will kick off the official 2012 Vice Presidential Debate in his home state of Kentucky. Just before Vice President Joe Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan square off inside Centre College’s Norton Center for the Arts, Sollee and his trio have the prestigious honor of performing on the campus’ main lawn. This historic event is free to attend.

Ben Sollee is currently touring in support of his self-produced fourth studio album, Half-Made Man. The album features an exciting cast of musicians including guitarist Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket), fiddle player Jeremy Kittel (Turtle Island Quartet), bassist Alana Rocklin, percussionist Jordon Ellis and guest vocalist Abigail Washburn. Remarks renowned author and journalist (and fellow Kentucky native) Silas House, Half-Made Man is “a revealing, deeply moving album that explores a man trying to figure himself out, just as we all are.”
