GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter and musician Billy Strings will share twelve days of bluegrass starting this Monday, December 14 as part of his "String The Halls: Home For The Holidays Edition" fundraising series. Each day through Friday, December 25, Strings will post a new performance video on his YouTube page at 11:00am EST culminating on Christmas Day at 12:00pm EST when audio for all twelve performances will be available to purchase/download via Nugs.net. There will also be a limited-edition event poster and selection of prints released each day via www.halfhazardpress.com.

“String The Halls” caps-off a year of giving for Strings, who has already raised over $100,000 for charity in 2020 through a variety of livestream and socially distanced concerts. All proceeds raised will benefit several vital organizations including Musically FedNashville Rescue Mission and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Additionally, in support of Strings, Nugs.net has launched a special discounted subscription campaign, which is available now through the end of the year. Full details can be found at nugs.net/billy.

The series continues a breakthrough year for Strings, who is nominated for Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards for his critically acclaimed new record, Home. Out now on Rounder Records, Home was produced by Glenn Brown (Greensky Bluegrass) and furthers Strings’ reputation as “one of string music’s most dynamic young stars” (Rolling Stone). Across 14 songs written by Strings, Home combines his high velocity, flat-picking guitar technique with intense, confessional songwriting. The album reached #1 on both Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart andBluegrass Albums chart and led Strings to debut at #11 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart.

Released to widespread critical praise, the Associated Press proclaimed, “it is his creative musical storytelling, paired with solid vocals on Home that should seal the deal, pleasing fans of the genre and creating some new ones…the perfect blend of pure talent and pluck,” while The Wall Street Journal declared, “Billy Strings has clearly emerged as a premier guitar flatpicker of this era.”

Michigan-born and now Nashville-based, Strings arrived on the music scene as one of the most compelling new artists with the release of his 2017 debut LP, Turmoil & Tinfoil. Of the album, American Songwriter, declared, “a great roots album…while this latest effort does boast chops and energy in spades, he’s also a talented lyricist, telling honest, often painful tales about addiction, incarceration, racism, and remaining positive in the face of negativity,” while The Bluegrass Situation praised, “playfully stretches the bounds of bluegrass via face-melting guitar phrasing…and socially conscious songs.”

Since his debut, Strings has been awarded Guitar Player of the Year and New Artist of the Year at the 2019 International Bluegrass Music Awards, selected as one of Rolling Stone’s 2017 “New Country Artists to Know” and performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and PBS’ “Bluegrass Underground.” Often playing over 200 shows per year, he has also become known as an electric live performer, keeping the improvisational tradition of bluegrass alive while incorporating elements of several diverse genres. WXPN’s World Café declares, “a bona fide phenom…with his virtuosic guitar playing front and center, Strings fuses bluegrass to psych rock, country and jam music, without fussing over what bluegrass should be.”
