This past Monday evening the band was named a winner of The Break Invitational (a showcase of N.J.'s top-unsigned acts sponsored and judged by The Bamboozle Festival team) and was awarded a slot on the Bamboozle festival's lineup (set date/time/location TBD). This year's trip to Bamboozle 2012 will be Audio Insight's second trip to the festival in as many years; last year saw them added as a regional winner of The Break Contest (a noteworthy several-month long battle-of-the-bands that stretches across multiple states). Their debut album Dimensions was released in 11/2010.

Audio Insight is Anthony Celi (lead guitar/vocals), Mike Deverin (bass guitar) and Dan Sullivan (drums and percussion).

Hailing from Woodbridge, N.J., the progressive rock trio formed in 2008 when the talents of its three members merged over a shared affection for rock music.  While still in high school, it was Deverin that introduced Celi and Dan Sullivan for the first time.

As a jam session ensued, a hint of chemistry between the three began to take shape and soon, the band started crafting drafts of their original songs “Crucify”, “For the Corporations” and “Like Flies Around a Dying Light”.

The band, recognized previously by The Aquarian Weekly as one of the Top Unsigned Acts in the tri-state area, debuted in January 2010 during a Battle of the Bands contest in Central New Jersey. Numerous shows at Garden State venues, including The Court Tavern and The Saint, soon followed in the months thereafter.

In the fall of that year, after spreading their blend of progressive rock and post-hardcore sound locally, Audio Insight put their show schedule on hold to record their debut album Dimensions at Backroom Studios in Rockaway, N.J. The album, which was released to a sell-out crowd at Architekt Music on November 13, 2010, includes eight tracks of original music, complete with a two-part title track that opens and closes the record. Currently available on iTunes, the album can also be purchased locally at famed music haunt Vintage Vinyl Records in Fords, N.J.

In January 2011, 89.5 WSOU-FM, “Seton Hall Pirate Radio”, was the first station to air tracks from Audio Insight’s Dimensions.

In a little more than a year since the album has been released, the band has gone on to achieve much early success with performances at the 2011 Bamboozle Music Festival and the world’s largest indoor independent music festival at the Mall of America courtesy of the Indie Music Channel.

In addition, Audio Insight has previously opened for noteworthy acts including Scale the Summit (Prosthetic Records), Just Like Vinyl (former Fall of Troy frontman Tom Erak’s new band) and A lot Like Birds (Doghouse Records), as well as performed at numerous venues in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Along with snagging solid reviews, Audio Insight’s Dimensions has also continued to gain commercial and college radio air-play across the country as the band steadily builds a fan base nationally, as well as outside the U.S.

Some of the the band’s influences include Coheed and Cambria, The Deftones, The Fall of Troy, The Mars Volta, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Rush and Tool. The band was first featured in the Oct. 13, 2010 issue of The Aquarian, where in his North Jersey News column, Tim Louie said, “Audio Insight blew my mind. I listened to one of the unmixed songs off their MySpace and they sounded like a four or five piece band. They are here to make a statement.”

On Sunday, November 13, 2011, to mark the one-year anniversary of their album release, the band shared their cover of RUSH’s “The Spirit of Radio” as a free download for fans via Audio Insight’s Facebook page. The track would go on to debut on 105.5 WDHA-FM’s “Anything, Anything” program hosted by DJ Rich Rusoo later that night. WSOU and popular Chicago BlogTalkRadio program IndieOnAir! would follow later in the week.

Audio Insight is currently booking regional tour dates as they continue to spread their distinctive blend of progressive rock and post-hardcore to new ears, as well as working on new material for their sophomore release whose date is to be determined.
