Circles Around The Sun will join Greensky Bluegrass as support on seven shows in January 2019, including appearances at The Beacon Theater in New York City and The Ryman in Nashville. The band—comprised by guitarist Neal Casal, keyboardist Adam MacDougall, bassist Dan Horne and drummer Mark Levy—are touring in support of their new double album, Let It Wander, out now on Rhino Records.
Let It Wander follows Circles Around The Sun's debut album, 'Interludes For The Dead,' which was released in 2015 following an overwhelmingly ecstatic reception when debuted as set break music during The Grateful Dead's historic 'Fare Thee Well' concerts in Santa Clara, CA and Chicago, IL. The new collection is filled with imaginative musical turns. Rolling Stone wrote in a review of the recording: "'Let It Wander' is a set of even deeper spells that thread suggestions of Little Feat–style grooves and Bernie Worrell's percolating synthesizers in Parliament-Funkadelic through the German mid-Seventies space travel of Tangerine Dream and the offbeat churn of the Dead's 'Estimated Prophet.'"
While Circles Around The Sun's individual members are busier than ever due to key roles in other projects, including the Chris Robinson Brotherhood and Jonathan Wilson, the band plans to tour whenever their schedules permit. In addition to the seven shows with Greensky Bluegrass, they'll headline three performances on the West Coast in November, including Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles.
