Darlingside Announce Tour and New EP LOOK UP & FLY AWAY

Genre-defying quartet Darlingside has announced a new EP Look Up & Fly Away, set for release on February 22nd. Comprised of five songs selected from a handful of outtakes from the band’s acclaimed 2018 album Extralife, the EP continues to spotlight Darlingside’s seamless harmonies, unique skill as multi-instrumentalists, and intricate songwriting. While the two releases differ in lyrical content, they share similar thematic undertones, exploring the different stages of life and ultimately, the concept of death. The ideas behind the majority of the songs on Look Up & Fly Away, including the title track, began formulating over half a decade ago and represent Darlingside’s poetic and timeless ability to capture complex, ecumenical topics.

Following its release, Extralife garnered praise from a wide range of outlets including NPR Music, Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal, ELLE, Rolling Stone, Paste, American Songwriter, The Boston Globe and many more (See Highlights). Last year, the band performed an NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert, which you can watch HERE. In addition, the album’s single “Hold Your Head Up High” was recently nominated for the 2019 “International Song of the Year” UK Americana Award.
