Only two weeks out from the 8th annual Harvest Music Festival featuring Yonder Mountain String Band, October 17-19, 2013, preparations are nearly complete at picturesque Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, AR.  This year’s festival will give attendees the chance to experience nearly 100 sets of music from a wide variety of genres, including performances by Kacey Musgraves, Les Claypool’s Duo de Twang, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Beats Antique.  Festival-goers will also be able to partake in numerous hands-on workshops and to enjoy the stunning beauty and fall foliage of the Ozark Mountains with hiking opportunities along miles of National Forest trails.Nashville-based singer-songwriter, Kacey Musgraves will grace the Main Stage on Thursday evening from 7-8pm. Musgraves was recently nominated for six CMA awards including Album of the Year for her debut Same Trailer, Different Park.  Les Claypool's Duo De Twang will close out the Main Stage on Thursday night, featuring Claypool’s infamous bass style and the intricate guitar work of Marc Haggard from the San Francisco based M.I.R.V.  Friday night’s headlining acts on the Main Stage will feature the 10-piece Tedeschi Trucks Band who was nominated in 2013 for the Blues Music Awards in both the 'Band' and 'Rock Blues Album' categories.  Finally, before Yonder Mountain closes out the festival on the Main Stage on Saturday night, check out live electronica and experimental world fusion music trio, Beats Antique.  The three-piece act is a masterful merge of modern technology and live instrumentation and combines unique sounds of the Middle East, and gypsy music with styles of downtempo, glitch and hip-hop.The invitation is still open for submissions for the Third Annual Fiddlin’ and Pickin’ contest which will be held both Friday and Saturday mornings of the festival. Contestants will be allowed to compete using the mandolin, fiddle, flatpicking guitar, or the banjo and will be judged on execution, rhythm, difficulty/uniqueness and expression.  One winner will have the chance to play one song with headliner Railroad Earth at the Main Stage on Saturday evening.Single day tickets, 3-day passes and VIP tickets are all on sale for the 8th annual Harvest Music Festival but prices will go up soon so make sure to take advantage of these early ticket opportunities.
