This Friday, September 16, The Festy Experience invites you to a special online meet-and-greet and listening party on Turntable.fm with The Infamous Stringdusters! The event takes place from 4 to 6 p.m. EDT on the Turntable.fm site. The specific link and Turntable.fm room name will be announced at 3 p.m. EDT on Friday through The Festy’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, so make sure you are following us! In the Festy Experience Room, members of The Infamous Stringdusters will be spinning songs from artists playing at The 2011 Festy Experience as well as deep tracks from their catalog. Everyone is welcome to tune in and listen, as well as chat with the Stringdusters and members of The Festy team. Feel free to ask questions or submit your requests! ABOUT THE FESTY EXPERIENCEThe 2nd annual Festy Experience (www.thefesty.com) will take place October 7th - 9th, 2011 at the Concert Grounds at Devils Backbone in Nelson County, VA. Curated by bluegrass-bending group The Infamous Stringdusters, The Festy revolves around the essential festival elements of good music, local sustenance, and the great outdoors. Weekend passes are $114 and are on sale now. ABOUT THE INFAMOUS STRINGDUSTERSThe Infamous Stringdusters are at the forefront of an exciting movement in bluegrass music. They wield an expansive repertoire touching on masters from Jimmy Martin to John Hartford, but their strength lies in their original compositions, proficiency on their instruments and extended improvisation that makes every performance completely unique. The live Stringdusters experience is anti-formulaic, groove friendly, and mind‐expanding ‐not your granddaddy's bluegrass -unless your granddaddy was Jerry Garcia. ABOUT TURNTABLE.FMTurntable.fm is an extremely exciting music discovery and social networking tool that launched earlier this summer. If you have not checked it out, you only need to be logged into Facebook to join. Every Turntable.fm user has their own account where you can upload your own music, customize your avatar, and play songs in a virtual chat room with friends and strangers in real time. The room can vote on every song the three to five DJs are spinning with an "Awesome" or "Lame" vote. Too many lames, and the DJ gets booted. Now that's service! For more information on The Festy Experience or to purchase tickets, please visit www.thefesty.com
