Fruition Announce New Album Labor of Love Out April 22

Today, the Portland, OR based quintet Fruition announce the release of their new studio album, Labor of Love, on April 22nd, 2016 on Randm Records. Self-produced and engineered by Justin Phelps (Amanda Palmer, Jolie Holland, Chuck Prophet), Labor of Love displays the band’s growth from a rootsy, string-centric outfit to a full-fledged rock band with an easy but powerful grasp of soul, blues and British Invasion era pop.

Following the release of 2013’s Just One of Them Nights and extensive touring, Labor of Love came to life over the course of a year-long process of exploring new sonic terrain. Influenced by everything from Phil Spector-esque pop to dreamy psychedelia to Motown inspired soul, Fruition plugged in and emerged with a wholly unified album that subtly imparts the sense of being swept along on a journey. With Fruition’s striking three-part vocal harmonies still very much at the center, and contributions from friends Anders Beck of Greensky Bluegrass, Jeremy Garrett of The Infamous Stringdusters, Steve Swatkins of Allen Stone, Labor of Love shows the complete force of their newly expanded and electrified sound.

In support of Labor of Love, Fruition make a quick pit stop in Colorado this weekend and then head out on the road for a North American Spring tour. Kicking off in Tampa, FL as part of the Gasparilla Music Festival, Fruition will make their way to 41 cities across the country including a 2nd stop at Red Rocks in Colorado before wrapping at the Northwest String Summit in their home state of Oregon. A complete list of dates is listed below.

Fruition is Jay Cobb Anderson (vocals, lead guitar, harmonica), Kellen Asebroek (vocals, rhythm guitar, piano) Mimi Naja (vocals, mandolin, guitar), Jeff Leonard (bass) and Tyler Thompson (drums, banjo).
