Celebrated pianist George Winston is revered as one of the foremost instrumental performers and composers of our time and as we face the challenges of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Dancing Cat Records announces the official release of Winston's iconic 1996 live concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. Seasons In Concert was originally filmed for PBS and is now available to worldwide audiences for free via George Winston's YouTube channel.

Renowned for his live concerts with 75 to 100 annual performances, with his merchandise sales and other fundraisers benefitting local food banks each year (DONATE), George Winston releases his legendary 1996 documentary, Seasons In Concert, as a way to offer fans an inside look into many of his lauded compositions. Seasons In Concert was initially filmed following the release of Winston's acclaimed Linus & Lucy -- The Music of Vince Guaraldi. Winston performs on solo piano several compositions from Linus & Lucy, as well as an array of albums in his acclaimed recording catalog such as December, Forest, Summer, Winter Into Spring, and Autumn. On slack key guitar, he performs in duet with Chet Akins ("Pu'u Anahulu") and Keola Beamer ("Kalena Kai"). Also, "Kalena Kai" is a song featured in the George Clooney film, The Descendants.

"My life centers around live performances, and I wanted to make this film available to listeners while we're all trying to manage," says George Winston. "My music is really a reflection of a person's experience of nature. The earth provides us with a great amount of opportunities to be present with ourselves, and to heal and have balance. Whatever music someone loves can have a positive effect on people during this unprecedented crisis while all musicians' performance schedules are on hold. Like everyone, my deepest gratitude and respect goes out to all the first responders and all the essential workers bravely helping those most in need (and who keep everything going in normal times)."

George Winston is undeniably a household name. He's inspired fans and musicians alike with his singular solo acoustic piano compositions for more than 40 years while selling 15 million albums. A tireless road warrior, again raising money for food banks from all proceeds from his merchandise sales being directly donated from every concert he plays, live performance for Winston is akin to breathing. Winston's music is simultaneously evocative and contemplative; offering us all a chance to take a step back and let our minds adventurously wonder.

Since 1986, George Winston has raised funds for local food banks, which are in need of funding now more than ever. On average, every dollar donated to food banks feeds eight people in need. If you can, please consider making a donation today to Feeding America. For detailed information regarding George Winston's food bank contributions, please visit: https://youtu.be/ow-IhCaYisY
