JAMericana favorites, Great American Taxi, announce their Great American Snowball Tour 2013.  On the heels of a successful west coast tour with friends Poor Man’s Whiskey, GAT is strapping on their skis and heading north for a three night stand in Girdwood, AK at the Alyeska Resort and then heading back home to Colorado for eight dates including Denver, Boulder and plenty of ski towns.  Taxi will welcome their new friends, Poor Man’s Whiskey to Colorado for both the Fox Theatre show in Boulder and the show at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver.  The Boulder show will also have Shannon McNally and Amy Lavere: Chasing The Ghost project on as support.GAT has been making a biannual pilgrimage up to the great state of Alaska for the last few years playing their annual ski weekend in Girdwood and then returning over the Summer for the Salmonstock Music Festival (www.salmonstock.org) which benefits the Renewable Resources Coalition (www.renewableresourcescoalition.org) in their efforts to stop the Pebble Mine in Bristol Bay.This tour will mark the first appearance for GAT in their home state of Colorado since front man, Vince Herman (who’s skiing style has been described as that of a “Great American Taxi” barreling down the hill), has relocated to his new home state of Oregon.January 18,19 & 20The SitzmarkGirdwood, AK January 23rdThe EldoCrested Butte, CO January 24thThree20southBreckenridge, CO January 25thThe Fox Theatre w/ Poor Man’s WhiskeyBoulder, CO January 26thCervantes Masterpiece Ballroom w/ Poor Man’s WhiskeyDenver, CO January 30thShakedown Pub VailVail, CO January 31stThe Aggie TheaterFt.
