KANROCKSAS: New Artists Confirmed, Onsite Attractions Announced

On Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29, the heartland’s newest major music and art festivalKANROCKSAS MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL-- will return to the Kansas Speedway® in Kansas City, KS. The festival is a music, art, camping and cultural experience with a world-class curated selection of electronic, indie, urban, pop and singer/songwriter artists that define modern rock.

KANROCKSAS is pleased to announce the additions of CAPITAL CITIES, MADEON, TOMMY TRASH, MORD FUSTANG, JANTSEN AND MAXIMUM HEDRUM to the eclectic festival lineup.

Dedicated to presenting life-inspiring spectacle and encounters, KANROCKAS festival organizers have just announced a few of the unique onsite attractions that fans can expect to experience on the festival grounds:

FOOD TRUCK ROW: Festival patrons will enjoy over a dozen of Kansas City’s world-renowned food trucks on pit row.

BEER GARDEN: A massive beer garden featuring many types of beer on tap will be centrally located on the festival grounds.

FERRIS WHEEL OF LIGHTS: The grounds will feature a seven-story rotating lighted Ferris Wheel which will light up the festival.

HOT AIR BALLOON RIDES:  Did you know the #1 ranked ballooonist in the world resides in KS? You do now–and we’ll have him on site. Take in breathtaking views of the festival courtesy John Petrehn and his Magniflight team.

GIANT WATER SLIDE: Over 40-feet long and 200-feet high, this massive water slide allows festival goers to enjoy a proper cool down in between sets at KANROCKSAS.

BUNGEE JUMPING TRAMPOLINES: Festival goers can catch air by jumping up to 24 feet in the air with bungee trampolines on the festival grounds

VIBE TRIBE: Living art, dancers, fire-tossers, burlesque performers and more will await festival goers who enter the vibe tribe area.

BOOM BOX: A giant stereo with speakers that doubles as super-charged cooling fans. Surprises await fans on the equalizer and tape deck windows which will have reverse painters painting on glass, go-go dancers and much more. A 30-foot antenna in the air will mark the stage.

THUNK: KANROCKSAS is thrilled to announce that a handful of the world’s greatest live artists will be onsite at the festival, painting in a collective setting on the grounds. Artists Norton Wisdom, See One as well as John Bukaty will capture images and experiences of musicians, painting live while they perform on stage.

FUNK YARD: Will feature a performance area with recycled/found/created instruments of all shapes and sizes.

STREET ART WALL: An art wall throughout the festival will allow festival attendees to show off their inner artist.

LARGE SCALE INSTALLATION ART: Huge sculptures and immersive environments scattered throughout the festival grounds

3-D PROJECTION MAPPING: Transforming the surfaces of the iconic Speedway into visual wizardry.

KANROCKSAS is hosted by the Kansas Speedway, located in the burgeoning Village West area of Kansas City. A limited amount of two-day passes are available now for $175.00, with camping passes discounted to $25.00. The fees will rise in the coming weeks so purchasing tickets and camping passes early is encouraged.

KANROCKSAS is also offering a hassle-free VIP experience ticket. This includes a VIP parking area with private entry to the festival, a locker onsite and access to private, elevated VIP viewing areas with great stage sight-lines, the “Chill Lounge,” a shaded seating area w/private bar, air-conditioned VIP restrooms, a VIP food program and much more.
