The Kickback's brand of brainy indie rock and raucous live shows have earned the band fans in Rolling Stone, Consequence of Sound, The Huffington Post, Nerdist, CMJ, The Wild Honey Pie and more. As nationwide momentum continues to build, the band will hit the road for another run of shows and festivals in support of its debut album, Sorry All Over The Place, produced by Spoon’s Jim Eno.

This year alone, the Chicago quartet has graced the stage of acclaimed rock station WXRT not once, but twice, hit both SXSW and CMW and enjoyed its first sold-out hometown set at Lincoln Hall in February. Not to mention, made a viral meteorology debut on CBS Cleveland 19, as well.

The Kickback marks lead singer Billy Yost's odyssey from South Dakota to Chicago where he joined forces with guitarist Jonathan Ifergan, bassist Eamonn Donnelly and drummer Ryan Farnham via a Craiglist ad. The underdogs continue to win fans from every spectrum, including Jason Narducy, bassist for Bob Mould & Superchunk, who put Sorry... on his Best of 2015 list and even Greg Dulli (The Afghan Whigs), who sang the band's praises, as well.

Collectively, The Kickback cite Hunter S. Thompson, post-post-modernism, an inflated sense of self-importance, large families, David Foster Wallace, The Wire, big sounds and then quiet sounds, David Lynch, harmonies, Michael Keaton, and entitlement, as their conceptual inspirations.
