New York City based band Licorice will unveiled their first EP A Million Grains of Sand with a release party at NYC's Knitting Factory on Wednesday, April 23rd. The 7-song EP was recorded in 2007 at Bushwick Studio in Brooklyn, NY, with acclaimed engineer/ co-producer Joshua Kessler. The band performed two sets in what was their 2nd appearance on the Knitting Factory's Main Stage. The evening also featured performances by fellow Jambands.com "New Groove of the Month" Buzz Universe (2008 Jammy nominee), as well as The Courtesy Tier.

The roots-rock and jazz quartet Licorice is a true jam band juggernaut. Featuring Joshua Bloom on drums and vocals, Matthew Epstein on bass, David Lott on lead vocals and guitar, and Chad Dinzes on vocals and keyboards, the Licorice sound starts in rock, funk, and reggae but always ends up somewhere in between, regularly deployed to sold-out crowds at the Blue Note, Lion's Den, Knitting Factory, and The Bitter End. Jazz legends like Larry Coryell, Mike Dillon, Adam Deitch and Roy Hargrove have all shared the stage with the up and comers.
