The Jake Peavy Foundation, in partnership with the Rex Foundation, is excited to announce the addition of very special guest, Phil Lesh for upcoming benefit concert, Can’t Stop The Train––A Tribute to Jerry Garcia, happening Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 9 p.m. at the Fillmore Auditorium.

“We can’t thank Phil enough for joining us for this special evening to honor Jerry and raise money for a good cause.” says Jake Peavy, the self-proclaimed biggest DeadHead in San Francisco and San Francisco Giants starting pitcher/Founder of the Jake Peavy Foundation. “Having an original member of the Grateful Dead on stage with us, honoring Jerry Garcia––it’s just going to make for a very memorable night and we can’t wait.”

The lineup already features special guests: Jackie Greene, Col. Bruce Hampton, Cody and Luther Dickinson of the North Mississippi Allstars, Jeff Sipe of the Aquarium Rescue Unit, Jennifer Hartswick of Trey Anastasio Band, and Jake Peavy and his band the Outsiders. The night will serve as a preamble to the following day at AT&T Park, where the Giants will host Jerry Garcia Tribute Day while taking on the Mets.

With this incredible evening of music, The Rex Foundation and The Jake Peavy Foundation will honor the life and works of Jerry Garcia, while raising money for both foundations. Larkin Street Youth Services (LSYS), based in San Francisco will be one of the beneficiaries from the event. LSYS, founded as a neighborhood effort to help San Francisco’s most vulnerable youth, has served over 75,000 since it’s founding in 1984.

“Support for this event has been great,” says Sarah Lauren Allen, Executive Director of The Jake Peavy Foundation. “Many of our corporate partners, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Krave Jerky, Hyatt Hotels, The Giants organization and Jake’s teammates are all excited to jump on the train as we celebrate the life of Jerry Garcia, his connection to the Giants, and the role he plays here in his local community.”
