On December 30, 2010 Railroad Earth had the pleasure of performing a late-afternoon acoustic set for a select group of fans at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO. Those 75 lucky ticketholders each made a contribution to BECA (Bilingual Education for Central America) to help raise awareness for this great cause. It was a special event and RRE was honored to benefit this fine organization.ABOUT BECA: BECA exists to provide quality bilingual education to the most impoverished children in Honduras.   To date, we have been exceptionally effective at addressing the educational inequity that persists throughout the region.  We are a small organization but we have the passion, stamina, and capacity to make big changes in Honduras and—eventually—all of Central America.Railroad Earth is proud to continue to support the work that BECA is doing. And to mark the anniversary of this event, on Monday, December 19th, the band is releasing the acoustic set from last year’s benefit via LiveDownloads.com!This recording stands alone as Railroad Earth’s only acoustic offering available on LiveDownloads.com, and all proceeds from the first 100 sales will go to the good folks at BECA and directly support their efforts in Honduras. We encourage all to download this unique performance that was, until now, heard by only a select few. And we ask that you help us contribute to what we believe is a very worthy cause and help to level the playing field through education in a region that dearly needs it. Education is proven to be the most important factor in creating lasting change to the conditions in any society, and in today’s world, more than ever, the state of one place effects us all in some way.We also encourage you to find out more at BECAschools.orgHappy Holidays to all!Railroad Earth
