Instrumentalists turned seasoned producers Gray Smith, Ben Eberdt and live drummer Michael Kelly—collectively known as the live electronic outfit SAVOY—are renowned for taking elements from almost every sub-genre of electronic music and mashing them together to create a truly unique sound that leaves fans worldwide in one sweaty mess at the end of their energetic performances. SAVOY now take that same force into the studio with their PERSONAL LEGEND EP, out today (January 15) as a free download via the band’s online channels. PERSONAL LEGEND takes the Brooklyn, NY-based band to new heights with four tracks of rawness, heavy beats and live instrumentation rarely seen in today’s electronic world. PERSONAL LEGEND opens with “The Bridge,” followed by “AfterShock” featuring fellow Coloradoan live electronic band Big Gigantic. “Kidz” takes listeners on a dark, dubstep-influenced trek, while “Hard To Say” closes out the EP.

In support of PERSONAL LEGEND—the follow-up to their debut EP SupertrailSAVOY are kicking off the SAVOY Live with Lasers 2013 U.S. Tour January 16 in Washington, D.C. The tour will take SAVOY across major clubs and venues throughout the U.S. with a run of several Colorado shows, including a special hometown performance in Boulder, CO at the Boulder Theater for a grand finale. The SAVOY Live with Lasers Tour will feature an impressive five-light laser show created by award winner Eliav Kadosh of Lightwave International, who won the first-ever “Best Laser Jockey” competition at the International Laser Display Association Awards 2012.

In 2012, SAVOY put themselves on the map playing critically acclaimed sets at premier electronic festivals like Lollapalooza, Electric Daisy Carnival and Made In America alongside countless shows at live venues and clubs throughout the U.S., including a headlining performance this September at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver. Their track “DIY” was also featured in a national GoPro commercial which can be viewed at: http://youtu.be/GyLIZi8W47o.

Their live concert, with a laser show that looks like the Moonraker from James Bond films, matched with SAVOY’s original productions and remixes solidifies the fact that these three are the purveyors of one of the best parties around.

In honor of their upcoming 20+ date SAVOY Live with Lasers Tour, the trio picks their Top 5 laser moments on and off screen:

1.    Sharks with freakin’ laser beams on their heads from Austin Powers
2.    Laser attack on the White House in Independence Day
3.    Moonraker
4.    Laser tag birthday parties in 8th grade
5.    Tom Cruise dipping through a security  labyrinth of lasers from Mission: Impossible
