The iconic funk band Kool & the Gang will release their new album, Perfect Union, August 20, 2021 on Omnivore Recordings through its Ru-Jac Records imprint — the first new recording on the historic R&B label.

The lights fell and alone on stage stood Big Red, Trey Anastasio, looking as Dad-like as ever. His big goofy smile sent waves of love, comfort, and release to the sold-out crowd in Manhattan, at the Beacon Theater. As Trey opened the show with a solo "Theme from the Bottom", the audience was sent into a feeling of happiness and familiarity, returning to concerts indoors, a pre-covid relish.

The Caverns and The Flaming Lips announce the venerable, pysch-rock band will return to the world-famous, underground concert hall for two nights of shows to ring in the new year on December 30th and 31st presented by Lightning 100.

The Flaming Lips first played The Caverns during the subterranean venue’s inaugural year on New Year’s Eve 2018. Guests who attended the sold out show and those who heard about the exuberant spectacle have long anticipated the band’s return to the cave—the wait is over!

After a few years of hiatus BeeJeeCo’s “Dog Days of Summer Bluegrass” series returns to Denver.  The series focuses on bluegrass collaborations from some of Colorado and the front range’s most talented bluegrass acts.

Robben Ford is pleased to announce the release of his new single "Balafon" off of his upcoming August 27th release, Pure via earMUSIC (distributed by BFD / The Orchard in North America.)  About his new single, Robben states, “Balafon was one of the first two songs written for Pure. I wanted a beautiful chordal melody and then a shift to a very strong “twangy” riff to contrast. Between, there is a pensive moment to set up a powerful guitar climax!”

New song up now for GRAMMY nominated Joe Troop of Che Apalache. “Red, White & Blues” (feat. Tim O’Brien) is Joe’s homage to the difficult legacy of America. Folk Radio UK premiered the song today for 4th of July and Joe’s got some interesting thoughts on the holiday:

One of the tents disappeared but the heap of trash maintained by aggressive vagrants keeps growing. I avoid that area entirely. It used to be a normal route on my runs, but it’s too frightening now. Every day I watch as the situation becomes grimmer. Friday at 1:45 a.m. I was shaken awake, not by an earthquake which is typical for LA, but loud, obscene music and hollers. I peered out my blinds like Mrs. Kravitz from Bewitched. Discombobulated from the early hour and without my glasses all I could make out were some people gathered around a bike.
