Relentless Beats has announced phase 02 of its Goldrush: Sonoran Skies lineup, taking place October 7 - 8, 2023, at Phoenix Raceway- a venue that has seen the Southwest's most prolific independent promoter’s biggest shows to date. The phase 02 lineup joins previously announced headliners Tiësto, Zeds Dead, ZHU, and 20+ artists from the initial announcement.

Nottingham Press will release Maps and Legends: The Story of R.E.M. by John Hunter, the most comprehensive biography of R.E.M. yet published. Maps and Legends covers not just the band’s entire career, from Radio Free Europe to Collapse Into Now, but also delves deeply into the childhoods of each of the band members. It tells the story of each of the teenage bands one or more of the members played in before R.E.M.

Dead & Company just wrapped up the 2023 FINAL TOUR with three sold-out concerts at Oracle Park in San Francisco in front of 120,000 fans. This was the most successful tour in the band’s eight-year history, drawing over 840,000 fans and grossing nearly $115 million.  The band performed 112 unique songs during the Final Tour.

Since the band’s 2015 debut, Dead & Company has completed ten tours, performing to more than 4 million fans across 235 shows.

Following the final concert of Dead & Company at Oracle Park in San Francisco, Congressman Wiley Nickel of North Carolina took to the House floor on Monday to deliver a heartfelt tribute to the Grateful Dead, a band that has left an indelible imprint on American music and culture.

Nashville-based singer/songwriter Austin Grimm, leader of the nationally touring band Roots of a Rebellion (whose 2019 release Shapes of a Soul reached #1 on Billboard's Reggae Album Chart), released his debut solo single "Unconditional Love" (featuring KNEX and Sun-Dried Vibes) on Friday, Feb 17 and followed up that release with the Walk A Mile EP on May 5.
 

Dark Horse Records reissues Joe Strummer’s iconic London benefit show for striking firefighters with the physical release of Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros: Live at Acton Town Hall on CD and special edition 2LP Clear vinyl. The show saw Strummer reunite on stage with Mick Jones of The Clash for the first time in almost two decades.

Obviously, a band named Birds of Play has a penchant for bending words as well as musical notes, which would explain why they call their music “Americawna.” Get it? (Cawm’on. Puns are supposed to make you groan a little … .)
