High Court HillBilly: Jethro Tull at Red Rocks

How lucky the creators of Aqualung; Ian Anderson, and Martin Barre; came halfway across the world to a 65 Million year old red stone amphitheater in Colorado under a cool early June evening sky, to recreate one of the seminal rock albums in history.

My Morning Jacket & Amos Lee | Red Rocks

A man in the will-call line commented that he flew in from North Carolina to catch this show. Another girl drove for at least 30 hours from Connecticut to Morrison, Colorado, ticket in hand, to see one of the greatest forces in music play one of the most amazing venues on the circuit.

On Sunday afternoon The New Mastersounds were finishing up a remarkable set of true funk as Renard “Ras I Ray” Shy, Sr. (bassist/singer for Easy Star All-Stars) sat in the audience at Red Rocks Amphitheater enjoying the music and mingling with fans.

Rush | Red Rocks | 8/16/2010 | Review

Its been many years since I have seen Rush play and I'm glad I finally got to see them again. Rush has a very dedicated fan base and when tickets go on sale for their shows, they sell out in minutes. That was the case with this years Red Rocks show and is also why they added an additional second show to their Colorado run. The other reason these specific shows sold out so fast, is because Rush has been spending this tour covering their 1981 classic 'Moving Pictures' in its entirety.

Renaissance Innovators: Bisco CO & Beyond

Before I even begin to describe the Disco Biscuit madness that has been transpiring lately, I would like to qualify the title of this article. The word renaissance means rebirth.

John Butler Trio | Red Rocks | 6/4/2010

From a dready skater busking on the streets of Australia, to a world-touring artist selling out one of America’s most premiere venues, John Butler proves authenticity in music truly prevails.

Friday night’s Red Rocks gig was simulcast live over cyber waves to ensure that the whole globe could relish in the spunky, feel-good beats the Aussie chaps threw down on this, their largest headlining show.

Fitz & the Tantrums open the closing day at Red Rocks

Summer is officially over.  According to the calendar, it happened several weeks ago, but in my mind it happened last weekend - the day Red Rocks Amphitheater finished their concert season.  At this point in the year, the weather becomes too unpredictable, and more importantly too cold, to continue sitting outside late in to the night, even for the noble cause of seeing live music.  This year, Flogging Molly closed out the concert season, bringing So Cal acts Hepcat, and Fitz and the Tantrums along for the ride.

Phish | Red Rocks Amphitheater | 8/2/09 | Review

I saw my first Phish show at the Hampton Coliseum in 1995 when I was 16 years old.  I had such a great time that I lied to my parents in order to go see them again at Hershey Park a few days later.  At the time, I knew nothing about Phish;  I didn’t know any of its songs, any of its members names, or that the drummer wore a dress and played a vacuum.  I just knew that when I saw that first show at the Spaceship in ‘95 it was filled with so much positive energy, I wanted to continue being a part of it.
