Laura Benitez’s new album, With All Its Thorns is an autobiographical collection of loving, open, vulnerable and ultimately heartbreaking songs. With her delicately distinctive voice, Benitez pulls from traditional country music and brings the sound to the present-day.

With such accolades, it would be understandable if Louisa Branscomb chose to rest on her laurels at the comfort of her Alabama farm. Instead, the multi-award-winning artist and songwriter has been busy in the studio for months, working on a new recording of songs she has written or co-written.

Severn Records announces a March 9 release date for They Call Me Mud, the new CD from singer Mud Morganfield, son of the legendary blues icon, Muddy Waters. Produced by Mud Morganfield and Rick Kreher (who also plays guitar on the CD), They Call Me Mud was recorded at Joyride Studios in in Mud’s Chicago hometown. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, January 25,26,27, the three soldout Tedeschi Trucks Band Chicago concerts marks a triumphant return to the windy city very the same week that Chicago's WXRT radio announced TTB in the top ten list of best 2017 concerts. TTB was ranked at number 5 by the listener's poll for their three sold out concerts the previous year, to the week. There is no reason to dismiss that TTB's 2018 run will not make the top ten list again. Chicago fans love TTB's big sound and well crafted jams.

Whether traveling to gigs on horseback or by tour bus, Americana mavens The Brothers Comatose forge their own path with raucous West Coast renderings of traditional bluegrass, country and rock ‘n’ roll music. The five-piece string band is anything but a traditional acoustic outfit with their fierce musicianship and rowdy live shows reminiscent of stadium rock concerts.
