In a first-of-its-kind coastal event in Los Angeles, The BeachLife Festival will bring together more than 40 headlining touring bands and legendary musicians, California culinary stars, and multiple surf and skateboarding components for a three-day immersive experience celebrating Southern California beach culture. Running May 3-5, 2019 oceanfront in Redondo Beach, The BeachLife Festival will feature West Coast immersed live music, culinary delights, skate, surf, and iconic beach lifestyle offerings on the shore of one of Los Angeles’ most famed beaches.

The BeachLife Festival producers have entered into a 10-year partnership on an eight acre site at the scenic Seaside Lagoon water park along the Redondo Beach waterfront. They will invest substantial capital into transforming the saltwater lagoon, its beach, and surrounding areas including adjacent parking surfaces, into a classic California beach village atmosphere complete with a built-out immersive venue and three stages. A full artist lineup will be announced in January.

The BeachLife Festival was founded by Los Angeles native Allen Sanford, a restaurateur-turned-tech-music entrepreneur, and his business partner, Rob Lissner, a former tech executive. Veterans in the streaming music space, the two co-founded LiveList, a free live streaming platform that broadcasts thousands of concerts and festivals from around the world. The platform is partnering with The BeachLife Festival to deliver the premier “content first” festival of this scale by broadcasting exclusive live music, backstage interviews, on the ground experiences, and more to millions globally.

"Having worked with major festivals around the country, we saw an opportunity to distinguish ourselves in the space by creating a content-first festival; something we haven't seen before,” said Allen Sanford, The BeachLife Festival co-founder, who is also known for his decade-long Hermosa Beach summer concert series. “Every artist, stage, and activation at BeachLife is designed to maximize content creation and contribute to a highly engaging online experience while keeping our live audience experience intimate.”

While embracing the vanguard spirit of Southern California’s beach music scene, harking back to the days when The Beach Boys sang about “California Dreaming” and sun-seeking beachgoers played barefoot in the sand and surf, The BeachLife Festival will forge ahead from a technological and experiential perspective by creating a highly-integrated level of engagement between artists and guests, even before the musical acts take the stage. In the months leading up to the festival, confirmed BeachLife acts will be producing exclusive content to highlight their connection to, and passion for, California’s acclaimed beach culture.

“We’re creating an eclectic festival that features a wide array of artists and great food and drink, and one that shines a light on the beach and ocean-related causes,” said The BeachLife Festival Creative Director and Pennywise frontman, Jim Lindberg. “I’ve played and attended some of the best music festivals in the world, so I’m taking those experiences to make this a truly one-of-a-kind festival that patrons and participants, alike, will remember for years to come. And, we’re going to have a great time doing it.”
