Think about the best concerts you’ve attended and chances are you had a lot of fun, dancing and smiling throughout the show. This is exactly the kind of vibe you will experience when Black Masala is performing live. Performing hundreds of shows a year has helped Washington, DC’s gypsy punk brass band hone their sound, while injecting it with a healthy dose of funk, soul and eclectic grooves. Black Masala is all about having fun!

In 2015 Black Masala released their second studio album, I Love You Madly and has plans to release remixes of that album later this year. I Love You Madly was well received and reached #2 on the CMJ World Chart and #4 on Canada’s national Earshot radio chart. On their second album it is clear that Black Masala are having a lot of fun incorporating various musical influences into their go-anywhere Brass sound. Ranging from Gypsy punk, Balkan brass and New Orleans funk, to Bhangra and bounce, this is an album for the multicultural music listener. The heavy horns and danceable rhythms tie “I Love You Madly” together and create an album that can be played for a wide range of audiences.

The band has not let up since releasing the album, touring heavily with their infectious live show to clubs and festivals up and down the East Coast. This fall sees the band reaching new heights and new regions with some exciting tour dates. New fans will be hooked and those already familiar with the band will be excited to hear and see new instruments and songs.
