An independent Grateful Dead tribute band will perform two free concerts at the Green Door Pub in Stratton Village Resort Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2.

Dead Meat, a Hudson Valley-based tribute band, returns to this Southern Vermont venue for its fourth and fifth performances there, respectively.

The band recently played at Green Door Pub in December 2018, following a performance by Mihali (from Vermont jam band Twiddle), part of the venue's Rocking For Rob charity weekend of live music.

At these upcoming performances, fans can expect a deep-dive into the Grateful Dead's uniquely American songbook, from the Dead's 30-year career, which ended in 1995 with the death of iconic guitarist Jerry Garcia. Since then, new iterations from the Dead's surviving members and tributes from musicians around the country have breathed new life into this musical legacy.

Performances begin at 9 p.m. and there is no cost of admission.

Dead Meat consist of Dan Rappaport on bass and vocals, Tom Clancey on guitar and vocals, Stephen Jordan on guitar and vocals, Ryan "ShwizZ himself" Liatsis on keyboards and guitar, and Kevin Weinberger on drums. www.deadmeatband.com.
