Innovative Giving Enhancement 501(c)(3) today announces the artist collective for the fourth annual Music and Art Immersion program happening in Barcelona, Spain October 5-14, 2018.  Participants no longer have to imagine ten days and nine nights of concerts and jams on the beach, in elegant flamenco palaces, classic gothic theaters, historic jazz clubs, acoustically perfect ancient squares, and historic concert halls.  They’re now the nightly backdrop for this trip’s cultural exchange for an experience that truly is once in a lifetime.

With its storied history; mind blowing art, architecture and music; magnificent venues; sublime cuisine, and late-night hours, Barcelona epitomizes the perfect Immersion locale. The collective of musicians and participants hold court all week long at the exquisite Onix Liceo. This perfectly situated luxury hotel serves as the headquarters for the event.  Completely converted into a visually-stunning atmospheric venue, IGE’s immersive experience is centered within its performance stages, chill spaces and collaborative art installations.

The initial musician lineup of the 2018 Barcelona Immersion includes Eric Krasno of Soulive and Lettuce; Paul Hoffman and Anders Beck of Greensky Bluegrass; Nicki Bluhm; Bill Nershi of String Cheese Incident; Holly Bowling; Grahame Lesh and Elliott Peck of Midnight North/Terrapin Family Band; Scott Law of Cosmic Twang: Ross James of Terrapin Family Band/Phil Lesh & Friends; Jilian Nershi of Honkytonk Homeslice, and Matt Butler of Everyone Orchestra. This group of Musical Ambassadors joins musical forces with a broad range of multi-genre European All Stars for intentionally immersive evenings filled with incredible international improvisation.

IGE Founder Michael Becker notes the experience is truly like none other for participants and musicians alike: “It is one thing to see the artists in their bands, and quite another to experience them personally as they discover inspiration. IGE removes the artists from their bands and environments so that they explore, create and discover new musical contexts.” Expanding on the role of participants as creators not just as viewers he offers “each Immersion participant is an integral part of the community and responsible for the direction of the experience.”

With the fourth incarnation of the international community-building collective happening in early Fall 2018, tour participants properly summarize the transcendent nature of the experience. As noted by Jason Eig from Maryland, “We had an amazing experience with IGE in Venice. The performances and friendliness of the unbelievably talented musicians and outstanding hospitality of the hosts exceeded our expectation. It was truly a memorable experience which we will always cherish.”

True cultural immersion occurs when IGE’s European partners, European All Stars in residence, and local friends, mesh with Immersion participants to bring direct benefit to Barcelona’s non-profits, artist communities and people.
