Americana band JD & The Straight Shot – featuring vocalist/guitarist Jim Dolan whose voice the New York Post calls “reminiscent of Tom Waits and Randy Newman,” bassist Byron House (Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton) and violinist/fiddler Erin Slaver (Martina McBride, Rod Stewart) – are hitting the road with Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, Chicago. The trek kicks off on March 14th in Stamford, Connecticut at The Palace Theatre.

JD & The Straight Shot’s sound is steeped in the quiet fire of Americana with distinctive elements of roots music topped off with a dash of classic rock. Rock At Night calls them “Superb Americana,” Stageshottz Magazine raves, “They define the new Americana sound,” Bullet Music enthuses the band is “Chock-full of good ol’ American soul” and Write On Music declares them “uniquely different and altogether dynamic.”

The band is currently working on their forthcoming album due out in 2017. The achingly beautiful first single “I Know, You Know, I Know” gives an exciting taste of what’s to come. The sparkling ballad produced by Chuck Ainlay (Mark Knopfler, Miranda Lambert), was written by Dolan, Slaver and Marc Copely (B.B. King, Rosanne Cash) with sweeping accordion refrains by Shawn Pelton (Sheryl Crow, Levon Helm, Saturday Night Live band). The new song has been a rousing audience favorite along recent tour dates with Don Henley and Joe Walsh.

JD & The Straight Shot has been touring nonstop in support of their 2016 all-acoustic album Ballyhoo!. In addition to playing with Don Henley and Joe Walsh, the band has performed alongside luminaries such as the Eagles, Keith Urban, the Dixie Chicks, Jewel and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. South Florida Insider gushes, “JD & The Straight Shot’s wonderful harmonies make the melodies even sweeter” and their set is “everything a music lover could want and more.”

Chicago, the legendary rock band with horns, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 and their first album, Chicago Transit Authority, was inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame in 2014. In Billboard Magazine's Hot 200 All-Time Top Artists, Chicago came in at #9, ranking as the highest charting American band. Chicago is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six consecutive decades - with 25 of their 36 albums certified platinum. Lifetime achievements include two Grammy Awards, multiple American Music Awards, Founding Artists of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a Chicago street dedicated in their honor. The band’s record sales top 100 million and include 21 Top 10 singles, 5 consecutive Number One albums, 11 Number One singles and 5 Gold singles. 2017 marks the band’s 50th consecutive year of touring.
