Save the Escalante & Bears Ears in Utah

Last month, Donald Trump signed an Executive Order threatening Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears Ears National Monument with drilling, mining and logging. These monuments boast 1.9 million acres of canyons, arches, and piñon-juniper forests. They house artifacts, buildings, and sacred spaces of Native American communities. The Department of the Interior is accepting public comments on whether to let Big Oil destroy Bears Ears. So we need you to speak up NOW and help save this special place!

Trump’s Executive Order forces the review of National Monuments that have been protected since 1996. It puts more than 50 National Monuments -- more than one billion acres of wild places -- at risk.

That means visitors to our natural wonders could see, hear and smell coal mines and oil wells.

Bears Ears is the first monument being targeted by Big Oil. This week, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke is visiting Utah to scope out its drilling potential for himself.

Now is the time to show Secretary Zinke that you want our lands to remain protected. With your help, we can demonstrate that rolling back protections for Bears Ears would be a tragic mistake.

Add your comment: Say NO to fossil fuel development in our wild places!

Trump’s vision for our environment is clear. He thinks our national monuments are first and foremost meant to help his Big Oil friends.

We can’t let him hand over these places to the fossil fuel industry. We need your help to fight back!

Stop Trump from handing over our national monuments to Big Oil: Write to the Department of the Interior now!
