Wood Brothers Announce Fall Tour Dates

The Wood Brothers have announced Fall 2016 tour dates. The 16-show headline run includes a trek through the Southeast beginning in Birmingham and making stops in Atlanta, Charleston and Charlotte, before wrapping at Suwannee Roots Revival in Live Oak, Florida. The November leg takes the Nashville-based three piece—featuring Oliver Wood, Chris Wood and Jano Rix—to the Midwest, including a return to the Vic Theatre in Chicago following last year's sold out performance there, as well as shows in Minneapolis, Milwaukee and a tour closer at Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland.

Dubbed "masters of soulful folk" by Paste Magazine, The Wood Brothers released their debut studio album, Ways Not To Lose, on Blue Note in 2006. It has since been followed by a string of critically acclaimed studio and live recordings, leading the New York Times to praise their "gripping vocals" and the Los Angeles Times to salute their "taught musicianship." Meanwhile, their dedication to the road has seen them solidify a reputation among the most prolific touring acts of their time with sold out shows around the U.S. and Europe and a steady flow of festival appearances, including an electrifying set earlier this summer at Bonnaroo and a performance this coming weekend at Celebrate Brooklyn in Prospect Park.

The Wood Brothers latest studio album, Paradise (Honey Jar Records/Thirty Tigers), debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart upon its release. The collection explores themes of longing and desire and the ways in which the pursuit of fulfillment can keep it perpetually out of our reach. It's a sophisticated piece of work, but also their most rocking effort to date, with Chris Wood playing electric bass on tracks for the first time and Oliver offering an abundance of stinging electric and slide guitar leads. Recorded at Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye studio in Nashville, Paradise presents the latest chapter in the ongoing evolution of a band—and a family—navigating the joy and challenges of a life in music.
