Rosy Nolan Releases Main Attraction Today

Los Angeles country artist Rosy Nolan releases her new LP Main Attraction, a collection steeped in Americana roots, Western swing, honky tonk, and old-time country. The record channels the heartache and longing that have defined Nolan’s songwriting, while honoring the great American sounds of the 1920s–1940s.

Produced by Nolan with Heather Anne Lomax and Jason Hiller, Main Attraction features standout performances from Dirk Powell (Rhiannon Giddens, Joan Baez, T Bone Burnett) on accordion and Doc Brown on pedal steel. The album moves from toe-tapping honky tonk to intimate heartbreak, lifting listeners up, breaking them down, and reminding them they’re not alone.

Highlighted tracks include the fiery opener “Dead on the Vine,” the Cajun-infused “How It Feels To Fall In Love,” and the cheeky Western swing romp “Get On Me.” The latter’s music video, directed by Jack Hackett of The Doohickeys, features Nolan riding a vintage coin-operated horse in playful homage to classic Hollywood saloon scenes.

The haunting “Your Kinda Lovin’,” premiered by Americana UK, showcases Nolan’s emotional range with aching pedal steel and oceanic imagery. Meanwhile, her cover of Hazel Dickens’ “Don’t Put Her Down You Helped Put Her There” reclaims the feminist anthem with fierce conviction.

Raised in California’s East Bay and shaped by both punk and folk traditions, Nolan’s journey has taken her from Gilman Street’s riot grrrl pits to the honky tonks of Los Angeles. Her blend of grit, heart, and humor makes Main Attraction her most personal and confident work yet.
