Boca Raton hosted the Sunshine Music and Blues Festival on Saturday, Jan. 18, pulling people of all different ages together to enjoy a beautiful Saturday filled with sunshine and soul. Great American Taxi and Vince Herman have decided it is in the best interest of the band and everyone involved to part ways starting in 2014.  Vince recently moved to Oregon to settle down and spend more time on his farm, and his other band, Leftover Salmon, have become very active again absorbing much of Herman's time.  Great American Taxi has wanted to play more and follow up on the success of their last two albums, which landed them in the top 10

Dead.net is kicking off Dave's Picks 2014 with a visit to the Wall Of Sound era. Dave's Picks Volume 9 features the complete show from May 14, 1974, at Adams Field House at the University of Montana in Missoula, the Grateful Dead's only appearance in the state of oro y plata. This monstrously hot show is the third official show of the Wall Of Sound, which had debuted in March 1974.

High-energy psychedelic funk outfit Pigeons Playing Ping Pong announced their return to Colorado and North Carolina this March, with stops in Indiana and Virginia along the way. With eight shows in Colorado starting March 4th, the tour includes two nights in Denver, two nights in Telluride and a special St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Monday March 17th at The Fox Theater in Boulder.

In celebration of his Grammy performance debut and two Grammy nominations for Best Rock Song ("Ain't Messin Round") and Best Traditional R&B Performance ("Please Come Home") -- the first time an artist has been nominated in these polar categories in the same year -- Gary Clark Jr. will be releasing a remixtape to fans comprised of unreleased music and reworkings from his Blak and Blu debut.

Leftover Salmon is excited to announce their 2014 Spring Tour. In late March, LoS will kick off the tour with two nights at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA, followed by two nights at the Crystal Bay Club in Nevada, an evening at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, and two nights at the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company in Chico.

With Jake Shimabukuro’s new release Grand Ukulele: Live In Boulder; ukuleles are not for Don Ho singing Tiny Bubbles or Tiny Tim tip toe-ing through the tulips anymore. Thank Goddess of Fire Pele! The ukulele being In the same vein as the Lower 48’s accordion as a stereotyped instrument that can’t possible grab one’s attention for long; is not only for the Big Island anymore.
