Grateful Web caught up with Austin, TX-based Govinda just before he plays at Wakarusa. A master of combining classical music with electronic influences, Govinda discusses his musical passions, what you can expect from him at Wakarusa and his many musical influences.

GW: You’ll be at Wakarusa very soon – what can we expect to see from you this year?

The venerable Widespread Panic has announced the May 28 release of the 3-disc set Oak Mountain 2001 Night 1, their 8th multi-track release from the Widespread Panic Archives Series.

Head for the Hills is pleased to announce their third studio album, Blue Ruin, slated for release on July 9th, 2013. Blue Ruin, sees the Colorado quartet fusing bluegrass, jazz, hip-hop and indie rock into songs inspired by love and misery and comic books. Think Meta-fictional sea shanties, pop-infused newgrass murder ballads and urbane lyricism, twang and punch.

Lotus is ready for an intense festival season. Before they get back on the road with a special two-night run at Pittsburgh's Mr. Small's Theatre, the group releases a live video for "Age of Inexperience" from the 2012 headline appearance at Red Rocks, courtesy of NoCoast. Lotus returns to this historic site on September 13th with special guests BoomBox, Break Science, and Minnesota.

Camp Bisco has announced its full lineup of performers slated for the twelfth annual three-day music and arts festival, in Mariaville, New York this July 11th-13th.

Each summer since 1968, music lovers from all over make their way to Wisconsin to enjoy the annual Summerfest held in Milwaukee. The festival of 2013 begins on June 26th and lasts for eleven days. Music lovers UNITE! This fest in the big little city of Milwaukee boasts eleven days with eleven stages with over 800 acts and more than 1000 performances. There are bands ranging from some of the most well known in the world like the Violent Femmes and The Cure, to some of the smaller bands making their way into the spotlight.

Science! is an award winning acoustic duo from Olympia WA comprised of guitarist and vocalist Justin Stang and multi-instrumentalist Jim Elenteny. Their studio debut includes Blind Melon's Glen Graham on drums and was recently voted "Best New Record" by the readers of the Weekly Volcano newspaper. Science! is a musical pursuit of empirical evidence, using poetry and soundscapes to express the truth of daily life. Science! is something for the everyman to believe in.

Superstar Tim McGraw will be releasing live tracks from his TWO LANES OF FREEDOM 2013 Tour, powered by Pennzoil, for the first time ever this summer as part of his new program "McGraw Overdrive Series Live."  The first track, "Southern Girl," will be available starting this Friday, May 24 exclusively at timmcgraw.com with four other live songs to be released on June 7, June 21, July 12 and July 26.

Wick-it the Instigator will be hitting some of the hottest festivals in the US and Canada this summer including Sonic Bloom on June 14th.  His set is scheduled for 6:30 on Sunday at the Campfire Stage.  After a number of sold out club shows, the multi-genre DJ and producer will bring his infamous big beats and huge drops to an eclectic mix of festivals including Austin City Limits Festival, Summer Camp, Wakarusa, Camp Bisco, Bounce Fest and Summerset.

Singer-songwriter-instrumentalist Phoebe Hunt recently relocated from Nashville to the Big Apple, but before she did, the Americana-pop artist returned to her hometown of Austin to record her first full-length album, LIVE AT THE CACTUS CAFÉ. Releasing June 18, the album follows her self-titled 2012 EP, her solo debut.Hunt celebrates the new release with an afternoon show at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Gruene Hall, 1281 Gruene Road, New Braunfels, and a return to the Cactus Cafe, 2247 Guadalupe St., Austin, at 8:30 p.m.
