ARISE Music Festival
With just about two months to go, Colorado’s best music festival experience is only warming up, and even in their warm-ups, they go hard. The venue was an unusual one, but the Apex Movement facility in Boulder, was the perfect place to throw a mini festival. There was meditation, reiki, dancing, gymnastics, upper level pools, amazing drinks from Zoe at StarWater, photo booths, fire dancers, activists, really amazing music (I don’t care if you saw the lineup and didn’t recognize the bands), beautiful painters and artists, and even a wheel to get spun.
The 2014 ARISE Music Festival hit the ground running with first wave of artist announcements including GALACTIC with special guests Chali 2na (Jurassic 5) and Lyrics Born, Keller William’s Grateful Grass featuring Keller Williams, Billy Nershi (String Cheese Incident), and Reed Mathis Groundation, Tribal Seeds
ARISE! Those are bold words that I have used in the title of this review, but I have thought long and hard about it, and I can rationalize and explain it. This inaugural festival is one that I will never miss. I was only there for Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, but I did not sleep, and in that short period of time, I was able to completely capture the magic and vibe of this festival.
