On a night that celebrated both the legacy of jazz and the 125th anniversary of the historic Chautauqua Auditorium, the legendary Herbie Hancock took center stage, casting a spell over an audience ready for musical transcendence. As the first notes of "Overture" filled the auditorium, there was a collective sense of anticipation. The piece, laden with a spectrum of emotions and textures, set the tone for the evening.

Now in the seventh decade of his professional life, Herbie Hancock remains where he has always been: at the forefront of world culture, technology, business and music. Herbie Hancock has been an integral part of every popular music movement since the 1960's.

Today, The Headhunters release Speakers In The House, the legendary jazz-funk ensemble's first new album in 11 years. Co-lead by percussionist Bill Summers and drummer Mike Clark with support from NEA Jazz Master Donald Harrison on alto saxophone, The Headhunters latest studio effort arrives just in time to celebrate this American music institution's 50th anniversary in 2023, having formed around Herbie Hancock's classic recording, Head Hunters, in 1973.

Exhausted festival goers were greeted with cooler temperatures and welcome clouds on the final day of this year's Bonnaroo, June 19th, 2022. Seeing so many hard-core music fans rally for the last day after many had begun their Roo celebration as far back as Tuesday night when the campgrounds first opened was terrific. The Sunday lineup may have been the most diverse of the marathon musical gathering.

Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival has shared the lineup for this year’s edition of the internationally acclaimed camping festival, taking place June 16-19, 2022 on the Bonnaroo Farm, located just 60 miles southeast of Nashville in Manchester, TN. Bonnaroo 2022 will once again present a wide-ranging bill featuring a spectacular selection of top artists performing around the clock across more than 10 unique stages over the four-day festival.

The Bob Moog Foundation is thrilled to announce its 2020 Minimoog Raffle, featuring a vintage, iconic Minimoog Model D synthesizer, signed by legendary keyboardist Herbie Hancock. The synthesizer is valued at $5,000. Hancock signed the back of the Minimoog, serial number 1549, and drew a musical staff and added the inscription “(Hey Bob!)” on either side. The raffle begins on Monday, February 10, 2020, and ends on Tuesday March 10, 2020 or when all tickets have sold.

Throughout the mid-to-late 1970s, legendary jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock engaged in a prolonged period of experimentation across sounds and recording formats, over the course of several CBS/Sony albums, made only available in Japan. 1979's ‘Directstep’ was one such album, one that made use of a new form of recording technology called ‘Direct-To-Disc.’ This method recorded masters in real-time to acetate discs, rendering incredibly high-fidelity LP pressings but sacrificing the ability to edit or overdub.
