John Craigie

Attendees gathered gracefully for the 7th Annual ARISE Music Festival at Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, Colorado to set intentions, relish in world-renowned teaching, and dance their hearts away to some of the best national musical acts and pioneers in our beloved music scene. With over 450 programmed acts, Arise Festival covered a lot of ground in bringing top-notch entertainment and education to their guests.

ALO on February 23 delivered a wondrous two-set performance in Sacramento that was an excellent representation of how the jammy, jazzy, funky, poppy, electronica four-piece displays its lively endeavors of excellence. Such musical escapades, in turn, visibly pleased the audience, many of whom were “on the bus” for many gigs the band’s 12th annual Tour d’Amour, which always runs before and after Valentine’s Day. Singer-songwriter John Craigie opened the show.

With Thanksgiving weekend in the rearview, ALO is excited to announce the acts who will be joining them on the road for their 12th annual Tour d’Amour.  Held each year in February and March, to surround Valentine’s Day, the tour is a celebration of love in all of its forms.  John Craigie will open most shows, including the Friday at the Fillmore.  Monophonics will join ALO for Seattle and Portland, and TAUK will help close out the tour, and Fillmore weekend on the Saturday night in San Francisco.

Following a national publicity campaign for his 2017 album, No Rain No Rose, Portland Americana and folk songwriter John Craigie will be opening for iconic folk-rocker Jack Johnson on Johnson’s upcoming Summer 2017 Tour. The two met in Hawaii when Johnson came to Craigie’s show and fell in love with his mix of wry folk songwriting and stand-up comedy. After a few days together on the North Shore, Johnson invited Craigie on tour.

The stars seem to be aligning for John Craigie, a Portland-based songwriter whose stripped down and relatable songs are a refreshing dose of Americana in our saturated musical landscape. Craigie was recently picked by Jack Johnson to open for the West Coast leg of his Summer 2017 tour. This announcement comes after Johnson sat in during one of Craigie’s shows in Hawaii, and the two hit it off famously.

We're excited to announce that our own John Craigie, the Portland, Oregon Americana troubadour with a new album that just dropped in late January, just got picked by Jack Johnson to open for select dates on his 2017 Summer Tour! Yes, Jack Johnson of the banana pancakes fame (though I'm personally a big fan from his lovely work on the Curious George movie soundtrack).
