Keller Williams

In everything, balance. We aspire towards it. We lie about having it. Balance is a common tie between so many aspects of our being. Work and play, sleep and wake. Eastern, Greek and modern philosophies are steeped in it. Even a silver lining needs a touch of grey. But, why are we pre-programmed to seek balance? Why can’t we overload our individual tastes? Who says too much of everything isn’t just enough?

Keller Williams has announced a new Tom Petty-inspired project titled Keller Williams’ PettyGrass, which finds him performing select covers in a rollicking bluegrass style alongside eclectic bluegrass quintet The Hillbenders. The project began in 2015, when Williams put together a set of Petty covers for his annual hometown S.P.C.A. benefit, recording the rehearsals as voice memos on his phone.

Genre hopping multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Keller Williams will bring his signature solo looping show to The Caribou Room on February 10. Williams has built a reputation for his dynamic and unpredictable solo performances, where he creates samples on the fly using a special looping effect live on stage, playing both original songs and select covers. Nothing is pre-recorded and no two shows are alike, making for a completely unique experience of sonically infused alt-folk and groovy electronica.

Keller Williams is a genre-fusing multi-instrumentalist and vocalist best known for his eclectic one-man-band performances. Williams’ live shows are delightful showcases of musicianship, as Keller employs loop pedals and multiple instruments to provide the audience with an experience not unlike the interplay of a full band. This approach has made Williams a perfect fit for collaboration with an impressive variety of artists from different genres, including The String Cheese Incident and Yonder Mountain String Band.

Musical renaissance man Keller Williams will celebrate New Year's Eve with a special performance at Rams Head Live on December 31. The show will open with The John Kadlecik Band, followed by a solo set from Keller Williams, with Grateful Gospel featuring both Williams and Kadlecik closing out the night. The New Year's Eve celebration marks the first club appearance for Grateful Gospel, better known as a LOCKN' Festival Sunday-morning staple that began when William's pitched the idea several years back and has since evolved into a standing tradition drawing massive crowds.

Sync, the first studio album from KWahtro, the most recent ensemble from genre hopping multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Keller Williams, will be released on January 20.

Led by Williams on guitar and vocals, KWahtro features the superb musicianship of bassist Danton Boller (Jazz Mandolin Project, Roy Hargrove), guitarist and longtime Williams’ collaborator Gibb Droll (Brandi Carlisle, Bruce Hornsby) and drummer Rodney Holmes (Carlos Santana, Steve Kimock). Special guests include The Accidentals, Mike Dillon and Williams’ son Cabell Williams.

Keller Williams and KWahtro, consisting of Gibb Droll on Guitar, Danton Boller on Double Bass, and Rodney Holmes on drums, descended on the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA last Friday, November 4, 2016.

Catskill Chill is a music festival held towards the end of the summer music festival season. Most people are burnt out, broke, or unable to take anymore time off to attend another music festival. If you had an excuse for why you couldn’t attend this year’s Catskill Chill at New Minglewood, you won’t be making those same excuses next year after learning about their extremely successful transition to a new campground.
