MoogFest

Following a successful and acclaimed debut in Durham, Moogfest announced it will return to Durham in 2017, May 18-22.

Grimes and Miike Snow will join more than 250 of the world’s most forward-thinking musicians, artists, and technologists -- from GZA, Gary Numan, and Blood Orange to virtual-reality pioneer Jaron Lanier, transhumanist visionary Dr. Martine Rothblatt, and cyborg activist Neil Harbisson – for Moogfest 2016.

Leaders from Durham’s civic organizations, cultural institutions, government and business announced earlier today that Moogfest – the internationally acclaimed festival of music, art and technology -- will debut in Durham May 2016. This announcement signals a long-term commitment by festival organizers, reinforcing the exploding technology scene and culture of innovation in the Triangle. The three-day event will run from May 19-22, 2016.

Moogfest is a celebration that honors the creativity and inventiveness of Moog Music founder Dr.

Moogfest was founded in 2004 by Moog Music Inc. in honor of the company's founder and the man whose name the festival bears, Dr. Bob Moog. Moog Music is excited to work closely with The Bob Moog Foundation, the City of Asheville, our fans and partners to make Moogfest 2013 a dynamic celebration of the innovative spirit of Bob Moog. Bob was a visionary, whose groundbreaking concepts and electronic musical instruments have forever impacted music.

C Entertainment announced today that it will rename its multi-day electronic music festival in Asheville, NC, as the Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit for 2013, continuing to build on the success of the past three years when the event has been produced as Moogfest."The fans have embraced the festival with overwhelming enthusiasm during the past three years.

Moogfest 2012 is over, but the memory doesn't need to fade! NPR Music made it out again this year, and they've recapped their highlights, as well as documented some select performances from the festival.

The culmination of summer means annual fall highlight, Moogfest 2012, the festival of electronic and visionary music that celebrates the innovative spirit of Bob Moog, is just around the corner! With one month to go, we are excited to share the schedule for this year's festival, taking place Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27 in beautiful Asheville, NC.  In addition to the schedule, we have much more Moogfest-related news to share.As previously announced, this year's many acts will perform at venues throughout charming downtown Asheville, including the U.S.
