Railroad Earth

Just as the full moon is infiltrating its way into the Bay Area, casting an illuminating white light over the Fillmore...Peeps await for the epic improvisational elements that seem to have a ripple effect from an  eclectic group who derived their name from Jack Kerouac's short story, "October In The Rain".

Every artist, at some point in their career, has that defining, milestone performance- a moment that inspires the envy and white lies of those who failed to attend. For Railroad Earth, that moment was July 12th, 2013, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, outside of Denver.

For anyone who didn’t make it last year, short of rubbing your nose in it, here’s a bit of what you missed:

The hardest part of any festival is continuing to not only march out strong lineups year after year, but marching out a lineup that the fans feel is the strongest yet.  DelFest continues to rise to the challenge, and once again, organizers feel like they are on track to give the fans exactly what they want. The most notable new name on this year’s line up is The String Cheese IncidentBilly Nershi has been at almost every DelFest in one configuration

It’s that time of the year again, as Colorado favorites Mountain Standard Time return to Colorado’s Front Range to throw their annual Mardi Grass celebration. MST created Mardi Grass four years ago to bring a New Orleans Mardi Gras party to the beautiful landscape of Colorado. Past years have included special guests Jeff Austin of Yonder Mountain String Band, Todd Sheaffer and John Skehan of Railroad Earth, Andy Thorn of Leftover Salmon and Benny Galloway of songwriting acclaim.

Railroad Earth delivered their acoustic rock and roll to the Fillmore Auditorium Saturday night for what was the second show of a two-night stand celebrating their newest studio album, Last of the Outlaws. While the band is known for their improvised instrumental conversations, it’s their lyrics that really stick out to me. Filled with story-laden imagery, they’ve worked their songs in the eyes of the great American songbook.

Z2 Entertainment is proud to present Mountain Standard Time with Time Carbone (of Railroad Earth) at the Fox Theatre on Friday, February 28th, 2014. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, January 17th at 12:00pm for $13 advanced or $16 day of show.Mountain Standard Time has announced that they will be playing Wakarusa alongside Umphrey’s Mcgee, The Flaming Lips and Michael Franti & Spearhead.

The peak at this weekend’s Hangtown Halloween Ball came during Saturday’s late-night set when Greensky Bluegrass hit the stage, as the festival hosts, Railroad Earth.Music and costumes blended when Railroad Earth drummer Carey Harmon appeared behind the kit with the costumed Michigan quintet as they kicked things off with the RRE classic “Long Way to Go”.  Fans were treated to a set of Greensky Bluegrass completely and fantastically donned with Railroad Earth’s members’ trademark garb.
