In keeping with the event's continued effort to balance renowned national touring acts with local artists, Norwalk, CT-based singer, songwriter and musician PJ Pacifico has earned the final slot on the 2009 Gathering of the Vibes Main Stage. Pacifico will be the festival's opening bookend to one of his earliest musical influences Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN), who will close the festival on Sunday, July 26.

I hope the folks in Greensboro, NC and Florida got the same treatment we got from RatDog here in Philadelphia before ending their Fall Tour.  Two weeks after our country rejoiced and welcomed a new sign of hope in the free world with the election of Barack Obama, Ratdog brought the house down. The stage was full of election remnants.

Bobby is 61 years young today.  Thank you for keeping it going after all these years. We love you, Mr Weir!

Bobby and Ratdog played the Beacon Theater in New York City the past three nights.  One of our writers, Sharon Abella, was on hand and snapped some photos of the show.  Check back soon for her write-up from the night. And a special thank you to Dennis McNally for his wonderful hospitality.

Enjoy,

By all accounts, Gathering of the Vibes 2007 was a huge success on every level. The four-day festival, August 9-12, brought together musical artists, staff and an estimated 20,000 attendees from all across the nation to celebrate music, camping and camaraderie, and all agreed that the Vibes return to Bridgeport, CT, was triumphant.

In a rare Grateful Dead booking configuration, this year's 10,000 Lakes Festival will feature not only found Dead member Bob Weir and his band Ratdog, but also Chicago's Mr.

Grateful Web will have a review up shortly of Ratdog & String Cheese Incident's Saturday night Red Rocks show.  In the mean time, here's a few photos from the
