"Gone Crooked" is a fun little song penned in Nashville with my new pals Rayland Baxter and Nick Bockrath. After listening to a few of the rough mixes from Rayland’s new album “Wide Awake,” I was all in on working with him. That album has become one of my favorite releases of the year. Nick plays guitar on Rayland's record, and I am also a fan of his work with Cage the Elephant.
Austinites and travelers around the world came to Carson Creek Ranch on September 7th through September 9th, to see some of the best jambands from around the world. Although the Waterloo Festival saw some rain this weekend, it didn’t stop anyone from dancing to their favorite musicians in the mud! Concertgoers were all different ages, from families, young adults, middle-aged people, and older generations combined. The diverse combination of festival-goers was refreshing and felt like a community affair.
Once again, paths to music, wonder, and joyful celebration converged in early July at the four-day High Sierra Music Festival in the small mountain town of Quincy, California, where the elevation is twice the number of the population. Headlined by Sturgill Simpson, The String Cheese Incident, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Grace Potter, George Porter Jr., Melvin Seals and more, this was the 28th High Sierra Fest. and the 20th at the county fairgrounds in Quincy.
Today, The String Cheese Incident releases their latest creation, "Otherside." Produced in the spirit of collaboration with high energy electronic/pop trio TELYKast and organic dance music songstress Ruby Chase, the result is a powerful song which highlights each artist’s recognizable musicianship, backed by distinctive production and songwriting. The song was released today as part of The String Cheese Incident’s continuing Sound Lab Series
