The String Cheese Incident

Multi-instrumentalist Michael Travis is no stranger to taking music to new places. As one of the core founders of The String Cheese Incident, Michael and the gang have morphed from a primarily bluegrass-based ensemble to an ever-shifting, genre-bending circus of sound that continues to grow. Additionally, his electronic group EOTO (w/ Jason Hann), which began as a liquid downtempo duo, has grown into a force to be reckoned with in the electronic realm.

The String Cheese Incident announced their fall headline tour today.  They will play several Incidents beginning with two nights in Minneapolis on October 14.  They will also play Milwaukee, Detroit, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Boston and finally New York where they will play two nights at the Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Never miss a Sunday show is a phrase everyone should know. Celebrating their 31st Red Rocks show The String Cheese Incident finished off a great weekend with a Sunday night show. Joined by Nahko and Medicine for the People, Sunday was hot, bright and full of energy. The show was blessed by a traditional Native American prayer that simply reminded us to love the earth and love one another.

In French the phrase “Je ne sais quoi” means an inexpressible something, a little something extra or a quality that eludes description. With over 20 years of touring under their belt The String Cheese Incident brings that “je ne sais quoi” to their live shows. Whether it be a cover, a special jam or a sit-in, String Cheese always adds that little indescribable element to each show to ensure a unique experience.

Electric Forest is amazing.  It inspires plenty to say but I am going to keep it short.  This festival is unapologetically immature. Nanny Nanny Boo Boo.  This is the festival of the future with freaks, geeks, and oh my! Kids.  Or Kidz as we used to call em in my day.  They are lude, crude, young, and full of piss and vinegar.  Yes.

Today, Electric Forest (EF) revealed the artist lineup for the 5th annual music and camping festival taking place June 25-28, 2015 in Rothbury, Michigan.

The String Cheese Incident will return to Colorado's historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre for three nights! July 24th-26th, 2015.  In addition to full two-set shows from SCI, the band will be joined by Twiddle (7/24), Dopapod (7/25) and Nahko And Medicine For The People (7/26) to complete three nights of amazing music on the rocks!

“Do your work, but do your thing,” Ralph Waldo Emerson.

The String Cheese Incident concluded a two-night stand at Eugene’s McDonald Theatre (Jan. 19), leaving little doubt about whether they had done their work, but had they done their thing?

For the third year running, jam-grass veterans The String Cheese Incident set up their New Year’s Eve residency at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado for three nights of songs and celebration in their own backyard. The rear of the seated bowl was sparse Monday, but a creeping night one buzz helped melt conversations about the negative temperatures outside.

Before even getting into the music, a big shout-out needs to go The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park. It is such a beautiful and well run festival venue. Upon entering the park, you a see dense forest of large trees dripping with moss and many nooks to set up camp. Then when going into the festival grounds you are greeted by some of the kindest staff I have ever encountered at the music festival. Very rarely did you find yourself waiting for the lines for security or bathrooms. The park has lots of experience with festivals and it clearly shows.
