The String Cheese Incident

I wanted to interview a member from The String Cheese Incident not because I have their whole collection, because I’m a huge fan or even because I’d seen a show of theirs before. Instead, the main driving force for my choice was because SCI is a mainstay in not only jam music but really in the music industry as a whole. It seems there aren’t a lot of bands these days that can keep a cohesive sound for 20+ years. So I know there’s something special about this band.

Today (4/8) THE STRING CHEESE INCIDENT and USAToday.com exclusively premiered a behind the scenes, in-studio performance video for new track “So Far From Home,” from the band’s upcoming album SONG IN MY HEAD out April 29 on SCI Fidelity Records/Loud & Proud Records. To most of us who really pay attention to the current state of music and journalism, it comes as no surprise when I say that the quality and quantity of genuinely good music news and coverage coming out of the major media outlets has diminished substantially over the last decade or more.  They tend to focus more on pop artists, movie stars, and political discourse rather than covering and featuring truly great music (as they once did).

We are excited to announce that Billy Nershi of the String Cheese Incident will be joining us on Friday night with bandmate Keith Moseley, amazing keyboardist Eric Deutsch, and our good friend drummer Christian Teele.

The greatest thing about The Travelin' McCourys, or Del’s Boys, is that they are so open to collaboration. They were bread in a family of musical versatility that never limited any possibility if they could do something interesting.

The hardest part of any festival is continuing to not only march out strong lineups year after year, but marching out a lineup that the fans feel is the strongest yet.  DelFest continues to rise to the challenge, and once again, organizers feel like they are on track to give the fans exactly what they want. The most notable new name on this year’s line up is The String Cheese IncidentBilly Nershi has been at almost every DelFest in one configuration
