The String Cheese Incident

The Sweetwater 420 Festival rolled on Friday, April 29th with another hot lineup and more delicious jams for day two. The weather cooperated perfectly, and the crowds were relatively calm for this session, though more intense than the day prior. Today's festivities were led by The String Cheese Incident, Gary Clark Jr., and Lotus.

The Sweetwater 420 Music Festival returned after a three year hiatus, and kicked off on Thursday, April 28th with a pre-party to get the festivities going. Bands played on one stage only, which limited the options but packed in the fun. While the line up for this night shifted a number of times prior to the event start, the day went off without a hitch.

Today, The String Cheese Incident released their first collection of new music since 2017’s Believe. The title track for the new EP, Into The Blue, was penned by SCI’s Michael Kang in 2020 as his mother was diagnosed with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer. Kang says he saw his mother approach her diagnosis head-on. There didn't seem to be any fear, or sadness.

The String Cheese Incident is thrilled to announce their annual Colorado amphitheater Incidents at Dillon Amphitheater and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Joining SCI at Red Rocks will be Yonder Mountain String Band on Friday, Leftover Salmon on Saturday, and a very special Phil Lesh Incident on Sunday that will combine Phil Lesh with The String Cheese Incident for an unforgettable Sunday performance.

Today, the boisterous Baltimore-based psychedelic funk quartet Pigeons Playing Ping Pong released their latest single, “Move Like That.” The tune is the band’s third release from their sixth studio album, ‘Perspective,’ available April 8th, 2022. A reimagined take on PPPP’s classic, funked-up sound, “Move Like That” beckons listeners to the dance floor, blending bright and melodic guitar riffs with a thumping rhythm section.

Today, AEG Presents chairman emeritus Chuck Morris joined Governor Jared Polis, Community Foundation of Boulder President Tatiana Hernandez, and Nathaniel Rateliff of Colorado-based band Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats to announce a virtual benefit concert to support disaster survivors of the Marshall Fire. The pre-recorded concert will go live online on February 28th with more than 15 Colorado-based artists and popular national musical acts performing.

The String Cheese Incident are indeed coming to the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago for New Year's 2021. Thursday, December 30th will begin the 3 night run on 12/30, 12/31, and 1/1 2022. Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours of show time will be required for admission but as of this posting, the show must go on!
