In the heart of the creative renaissance taking shape in Oakland, California, the T Sisters are making a name for themselves as one of the West Coast's foremost indie-Americana acts poised to break out in 2016. A follow-up to their 2014 debut release, Kindred Lines (produced by celebrated bluegrass artist Laurie Lewis), the T Sisters' new self-titled sophomore studio album was just released on Friday, October 14, 2016.

The big news over the weekend at the 15^th installment of Floydfest was the unfortunate hospitalization and subsequent cancellation of headliner Gregg Allman’s Saturday night set.  But in true Floydfest fashion, the excellent talent evaluators of this year’s five-day festival, dubbed “Dreamweavin’,” had just the type of jam-band superheroes onsite to put together a dream replacement set.

It was red noses all around on May 22 in Southern Sonoma County, as thousands converged at the Mountain Event Center to celebrate Wavy Gravy in merriment and song on the occasion of his 80^th birthday.  

I had the privilege of sitting down with Erika, Rachel and Chloe Tietjen from the T Sisters (tsisters.com)  for a short interview before their set at the Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, CO.

Nestled in the Sierras at the base of Squaw Valley Lodge, Winter Wonder Grass opened its door for the first time on the West Coast to deliver a top notch line up of Bluegrass music. The previously only located in Colorado festival spread its wings to expand to another Grass loving area in Tahoe. Billed as a Beer and Music festival the bill, did not lie. Every major brewer on the West Coast was in attendance from Lagunitas, Tahoe Favorite 50/50, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Green Flash and many, many more!
