Though they characterize their sound as gypsy jazz and titled their latest album Adventures in Vagabondia, David and Enion Pelta-Tiller, the husband-and-wife duo fronting acoustic band Taarka, weren’t planning on becoming full-fledged nomads. Fate forced their hand, however, when they lost their home to Colorado’s devastating fall floods. Undaunted, they spent the winter in Virginia planning a two-month spring run through Colorado, California and Oregon.

With organic, bass-centric sounds mixing with forward-looking soundscapes, Everbody's Feelin' Real finds Freekbass bridging the gap between classic funk and the future of the groove. Medeski Martin & Wood + Nels Cline have announced the release of The Woodstock Sessions (Vol. 2) on April 22. The four musicians came together to record on August 27, 2013 at Applehead Studios in Woodstock, NY in front of an intimate gathering of 75 lucky ticket holders. The session was part of a newly launched series that brings established and emerging recording artists together with their fans in the recording studio. The experience is a performance/session hybrid that supports the artist to fan bond by sharing the process of record making.

Genre-defying sextet Umphrey’s McGee announces the release of their highly anticipated eighth studio album Similar Skin (June 10). Similar Skin will be released via the band’s newly formed independent label, Nothing Too Fancy Music, named after one of their most beloved songs.

Denver’s Fox Street have announced a return to their favorite part of the country in March and April with shows across the Southeast including Texas, Louisiana and Florida (where the band will be a headliner for Biscuit Fest in Boca Raton, FL). The mini-Southeast tour follows an ambitious Winter 2014 tour which included a packed January show at Denver’s Bluebird Theatre and significant growth in numerous national markets.
