The Musebox today announced that Dallas rock and rollers Dead Flowers will embark on a highly anticipated tour this April and May. Dubbed the “bastard children of punk and Texas blues” by Dallas Observer, Dead Flowers are, according to frontman Corey Howe, “hungry to go about the traditional, organic way” of building their fanbase. Within a year of releasing their first record, For You, Dead Flowers shared the stage with acts such as Delta Spirit, J Roddy Walston and The Business, Murder City Devils, The Reverend Horton Heat, and The Whigs. More information on Dead Flowers and their newest release, His Blues, is available on the band’s official website.

According to an interview with music blog Central Track, Dead Flowers frontman Corey Howe has thought a lot about a very important question: How should a band balance its live act with its recorded material? Howe is quite confident as to how to answer that, responding that “if you don't see an instrument onstage during one of the Dead Flowers' live performances, you're not going to hear it on their record either.”

"I hate going to a show and seeing a band after listening to the record -- or vice versa," Howe adds. "When you see them, they don't sound like the record. What we really wanted to do was capture - as close as we can - a live performance. We're playing all the parts we play live, with nothing extra added."

The band, rounded out by lead guitarist Vince Tuley, bassist Evan Johnson, and drummer Ed Chaney, view their upcoming tour with much anticipation. Being the sociable young men that they are, Dead Flowers view the tour as much an opportunity to make new friends as it is the chance to build their fanbase. Chaney speaks for the entire band when he says "I hope to spread our music to as many new and interesting people as we can."
