It’s Wednesday afternoon, smack-dab in the middle of the tornado we call SXSW. The music portion of the festival officially starts tomorrow, but for the people who know where to look for it, it’s well underway. Dogwood, a popular watering hole on the West side of 6th street, had lined up a number of stellar artists for the week. Alpha Rev will be in their hometown of Austin, Texas for the SXSW Music Conference, and will hang around the week after - when the band releases their third album, Bloom (March 19/Kirtland Records). Drexel University's MAD Dragon Records & Motion City Soundtrack's The Boombox Generation Announce Official SXSW Making Moves Showcase!
Drexel University's MAD Dragon Records (MDR) and Motion City Soundtrack's recently launched record label, The Boombox Generation, are pleased to announce the official Making Moves kick-off showcase at the annual South by Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 14th at Clive Bar, with the first performance starting at 8PM.
Danish songwriter/composer Agnes Obel will be making her North American debut next week in Austin at SXSW. Agnes will play three special shows plus her US radio performance debut on KCRW. The live session with KCRW will air on Saturday, March 19 at 4:00pm EST / 3:00pm CST. After gracing stages in Austin, Agnes will make her way to New York City for a special one-night only performance at Rockwood Music Hall on Tuesday, March 22.
