“Never miss a Sunday show.” This has long been word of the wise from many Phish fans when it comes to experiencing a run of shows. On top of that, the date 12/30 has always been a legendary night for the band. Walking into Madison Square Garden that Sunday night I expected to hear an entertaining show and hoped for some longer extended jams.

Phish just announced a 4 night run at Madison Square Garden in New York City beginning December 27th, 2011 and culminating with a 3 set New Years Eve show.

Phish has found a way to celebrate New Year's with all of their fans. The band will offer live pay-per-view webcasts at LivePhish.com of each of their three sold-out shows (including December 30th, Phish's New Year's Eve three-set performance, and the band's first-ever New Year's Day concert on January 1st) at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

With the famous Vermont jam quartet making their triumphant return to the road this year, one can only wonder what kind of energy and style they will bring to those live performances.  Phish has always been open to reinventing themselves throughout the years, and they very well may invoke something fresh this time around.

After a standout show on 12/29/97, the band gave a loose, funky performance on the second night of their three-night stand at Madison Square Garden.  The band came out of the gates smoking on night three of a four-show holiday tour on December 30th with "Sneakin' Sally Thru The Alley" > "Taste".
