Girl Talk Heads To Sunny Florida, Plus Other U.S. Cities..

Girl Talk on tour starting today!- for the Grateful Web

With hardly a minute at home to catch up on sleep and DVDs, Girl Talk is kicking off 2009 with a host of shows across the U.S.! In the months ahead, Girl Talk (aka Gregg Gillis) will hit several towns throughout the slushy midwest, stop off in Arkansas, M-i-s-s-i-s-s-i-p-p-i and the mountains of Montana, and then make his way south for the sunshine of sandy Florida. (Not to mention a two week trek in between to New Zealand and Australia.) Still reeling from the craziness of Girl Talk's fall tour for Feed The Animals, the Steelers continuous killer season, plus making all of those best of 2008 lists and winning $600 at black jack in Vegas, Gillis continues on. Before he knows it, he'll have played all 50 states by the end of 2009!

Bassnectar Releases New Single, 'Heads Up'

photos by Amanda Bell- for the Grateful Web

Bassnectar is back with his first proper musical offering since 2007's Underground Communication. "Heads Up" - the first single/ep from his forthcoming full length album The Other Side - available now at www.beatport.com, www.junodownload.com  and other major digital sites.

It's bombs-away-business-as-usual with this uber tear-out title track: a freakshow mix of sledgehammer dubstep, 2 step, and bass psychosis. The single features an alternative mix (California Style) of 90 beats per minute double time throb-hop that drops on your head like a John Candy body slam, as well as a third remix [West Coast Lo Fi Remix]" - a dripping melodic sound game by the upstart Bassnectar side project West Coast Lo Fi. Also included to knock this sucker out of the park, the Bassnectar remix of 'Roustabout' by Beats Antique...a twisted carnival circus anthem with - you guessed it - plenty of wobbling bass.

1. "Heads Up"

2.  Beats Antique - "Roustabout [Bassnectar Remix]"

3. "Heads Up [California Style]"

4. "Heads Up [West Coast Lo Fi Remix]"
